I've never been interested in gardens, but now I've become an accidental landscaper! My parents-in-law have an award-winning garden which they tried to prune back, despite advancing years, so my husband and I have become their landscape labourers.
I never appreciated the way that landscaping combines science and art until we began helping my parents-in-law to prepare for the annual competition. I am now quite the expert on design, materials, techniques and landscaping services. Whilst there is some back-breaking labour involved, I've realised that most of the work is in planning and sourcing the correct materials. I'm always amazed at how a good design can transform a space into a magical setting. I've also learnt that a small design flaw can destroy an entire effect. In this blog, I'll share some of my favourite tips. May your outdoor spaces always shine!
